Set in the world of the Majesty series, Most Wanted Entertainment brings a new twist on the increasingly popular ‘Tower Defense’ genre with Defenders of Ardania.  Rather than just the traditional concept of placing various towers to defend your base from waves of enemies, you’re given the chance to send your own army against the opposition.  Unfortunately, a new twist does not make up for the various flaws that keep this game from being anything but enjoyable.

Tricky review to write, this one! Tricky review indeed. You see Battlefield 3 is really two separate games fighting for attention in the same package. One of them (and arguably the one that most of the series’ core fanbase are interested in) is very, very good indeed. The other, despite looking very pretty and seeming to have the best of intentions, is a formulaic, often-shambolic mess of a thing, which stumbles into the territory of the downright broken at times. If you’ve been remotely cognizant during the last few years, you’ve at least heard of the popular Tower Defense style of games (Pixel Junk Monsters, Plants vs Zombies, etcetera). If you’re the type to apply labels to things, you could very accurately label Orcs Must Die a Tower Defense game as well.
