The highly controversial Zombie Survival MMO, The War Z, has now returned to Steam. By controversial, I mean the developer, Hammerpoint Interactive, flat-out lied and misled consumers on their Steam page. In December of last year, the anticipated game released on Steam to complaints left and right. On the Steam homepage of the game, there were so many promises and details listed that were either not in the game at all or incomplete in its current form. Valve apologized for the inconvenience, offering full refunds to those early adopters of the game. As of now though, you are no longer able to partake in the refund fury, now that the game has been re-released on Steam.
Hammerpoint has changed the game’s page to detail all the updates they have brought to the game over the course of the last couple of months. Time will only tell if these changes are in fact legit and if they are, if gamers will even want to pay for the game out of distrust. Hopefully, this is a lesson for developers everywhere to not ruin the delicate relationship between game-maker and game-player for the sake of getting your game out to the public as soon as possible. If you want to check out The War Z, head on over to Steam where you can purchase the game for $15 or higher, depending on the bundle you buy.
