It seems like just yesterday (or one year ago) that BlizzCon 2010 was underway, offering an exciting look at World of Warcraft: Cataclysm while they still-exciting Diablo III announcements were being made. In about an hour BlizzCon 2011 will kick off, and tomorrow will end with a performance by the Foo Fighters. We will be covering everything BlizzCon throughout the weekend so if you can’t make it or need to keep up-to-date AS IT HAPPENS, this is the place to do so!
While there have been no indication officially from Blizzard on any new release dates or announcements, it is very much assumed that Blizzard will announce their new World of Warcraft expansion pack. Doing so would be following course as usual, as every two years Blizzard has announced the new expansion pack, with the release date being about a year after that.
In the past, we were quick to break news about new expansion packs. Blizzard’s Cataclysm announcement was very much anticipated, as were the features, new races, etc. This year however Blizzard has been very good at keeping the new expansion under wraps and all those who may have encountered it so far are keeping their lips tightly sealed. It’s not a question of whether or not Blizzard has already begun working on the expansion pack–it’s been stated before through a Blizzard employee that production on the new expansion starts as soon as an expansion is released–but we’re very excited to see what’s in store. Whatever it is, I’m sure everyone will be glad to see Blizzard has a lot of new features in store and that they haven’t just been at the office playing Party Poker.
The Rumor is that the new expansion will be “Mist of Pandaria”, undoubtedly to feature Pandaren in full-scope. Whether or not these rumors are true, we just hope the new expansion is stocked full of new features to help bring a breath of fresh air to the game.
Oh yeah, we are also excited for some StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm details as well as Diablo III updates (and maybe release date?)
