Through a serendipitous mix of Warcraft-like hero diversity, Team Fortress style shooting, and intricate strategies reminiscent of their famous RTS series, Blizzard managed to create a thrilling, action-packed, and incredibly addicting game.
What Is Overwatch?
Blizzard’s new game is a multiplayer first person shooter where two teams must compete against each other in order to complete a certain objective. This objective is generally different for each and every game in part, so every round the teams have to be fashioned precisely for the respective map’s needs.
The game launches May 24 for PC, PlayStation4, and Xbox. Currently, the game is functioning in its last closed beta version before the official launch.
The setting of the game is a near-future world in which a UN-approved band of vigilantes rose against the menace of Omnic artificial intelligence which was represented by an army of robots who threatened humanity as a whole. Overwatch, the squad, managed to defeat the robots and end the Omnic Crisis. Soon after, however, corruption and sedition accusations started to arise and they were disbanded with the final attack on their headquarters killing Jack Morrison and Gabriel Rayes, the leader, and the second officer.
